In case you missed this past Sunday’s message, Pastor Mike challenged us to look at ourselves as coaches in the lives of children. We point them in the way to go and then get out of the way. Perhaps the larger struggle is how do we coach them? He listed a variety of opportunities to be intentional in the spiritual development of children:

1. Prayer: we can pray for our children (protection, wisdom, courage, God’s will) and we can pray with our children (meals, bedtime, decisions, crisis, traveling)

2. Bible Study: family devotions around meal time or bedtime, reviewing sunday school lessons, simply reading scripture together

3. Spiritual conversations: looking for opportunities to talk about making decisions based on scripture, why your family makes certain moral decisions

Regardless of where you are at in your spiritual journey we should always be pushing ourselves to “be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.” (1 Peter 3:15-16 NIV)

Life is good when things are right at home. We may face criticism and challenges, but they are manageable when things are right at home. The world can be a scary, harsh and uncaring place to be, but we can make it through when things are right at home. Stress, fatigue, and pressure may threaten our sanity, but we can keep plugging away when things are right at home. The problem is keeping things right at home isn’t easy. But we can do it. We’re going to take a look at what the Bible has to say about keeping things right at home

Just a reminder about our upcoming activities in observance of Easter.

Friday April 2nd between 11:30AM and 1:30AM we will have the sanctuary set up for you to come and partake in communion and reflect upon the message of Good Friday. This is an self-directed time so feel free to come by anytime.
Sunday April 4th our Easter service will start as usual at 10:30AM. The message topic will be Jesus, The One and Only — King. After service we will have our annual easter egg hunt for kids here at the church.

Looking forward to celebrating this awesome remembrance with you all!

Samaritan’s Purse Team
