Sermon 8.16.09

strong-in-spirit

Well, due to technical difficulties we have no video from this past Sunday’s service. But what we lack in video we make up for in memory (or note taking). Pastor Mike had given us the assignment to read through Romans 12 and 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12 this week in light of living honorable lives. So let’s start with 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12.

Verse 3 says that “God’s will is that we are to be holy.” What does this say to us about God? What does it say about the choices we make from day to day? Is it significant that Paul jumps right into dealing with sexual immorality? Why? Why not?

One Response to “Sermon 8.16.09”

  1. This scripture is a relief to me. It tells me that it is God’s will that I am holy and God is much more capable than I am. So I trust that it is HE that makes me holy not me. I think the significance of jumping right into sexual sin is that Paul knew how easy those sins deceive and drag us down.
