We are a group of people working to orient our lives daily around the message and person of Jesus Christ. We represent a variety of backgrounds. Young and old, Christian and skeptic. Despite these differences we all are focused on Jesus Christ. His grace. His love. His purpose.
THE LEADERS
Mike Miller is our lead pastor. He and his wife Kim and their family moved to Tulsa in 2000 with a desire to start The Heart Church. He spent 11 years in Enid, OK as a youth pastor before moving to Tulsa. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary. He has a heart for discipleship and spiritual formation. He is a trained Spiritual Director and he loves being a pastor. In addition to his wife and 3 daughters, he loves books, sports and coffee – though not necessarily in that order.
Richard Plunk has served as the Worship Leader at The Heart Church for four years, leading a dedicated worship team focused on genuine praise rather than performance. In addition to guiding the musical ministry, Richard provides pastoral support and frequently speaks to the church community. He has been married for 46 years and is a proud grandfather of three.
THE HEART
We exist to help people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Sure you might have heard that before, but to us there is no higher purpose. Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth died on a cross, rose from the grave. He did this so that we as humans could experience true forgiveness, true grace, true love. For everyone! The name The Heart comes from Ezekiel 11:19 “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.” This is the message of Jesus. He brings real life through a new heart.
